Bobby Gene Crye, 89, of Cannonsburg, passed away peacefully, Monday, July 31, 2017, in Community Hospice Care Center.
He was born March 26, 1928, in Wilson, Okla., a son of the late Curtis and Mittie Mae Teague Crye.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Jack Crye; and a brother, David Crye.
Bobby was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. He retired as a pipefitter from Ashland Oil after 39 years of service and was Boy Scout Master for Cannonsburg Troop 125 for over 10 years. After retirement, Bobby enjoyed traveling to all 50 states, woodworking and many hobbies.
He is survived by his loving wife, Pauline Schmitt Crye of Cannonsburg; a son, Curtis Crye (Sharon) of Catlettsburg; five daughters, Vicki Conley (Charles) of Ashland, Kathy King (John) of Buxton, N.C., Connie Crye of Ft. Myers, Fla., Paula Williams (Tim) of Waverly, Ohio and Bobbie Jo Vannatter (Stacy) of Columbus, Ohio; two sisters, Doris Adkins of Minden, La. and Ann Carner of Chaplin; 16 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family members and friends.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 3, 2017, at Steen Funeral Home 13th Street Chapel with Pastor Chris Rutledge and Pastor Danny Daniels officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
