Charlene A. Townsend, 67, of Flatwoods, passed away Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017, in the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
Mrs. Townsend was born May 26, 1949, in Portland, Ore., a daughter of the late Herbert and Vilma Robello-Dailey.
Charlene was a member of Temple Baptist Church who loved to talk to others about her faith and never met a stranger. She was an artistic woman who enjoyed quilting, making ceramic pieces and practicing needle point. Most of all Charlene loved her family and cherished the time spent with them on family vacations. Her grandchildren brought joy to her life that was irreplaceable and she has left a mark on them that they will carry forever.
Surviving is her husband of 40 years and the love of her life, John Townsend; daughters Amanda Bennett and Kristi (Scott) Sweeney; a son, David (Laura) Hill II; brothers Herb Dailey and Todd Dailey; a sister, Laura Dailey; grandchildren Ryan Hill, Taylor Sweeney and Isaac Bennett and Charles (Mary) Baker.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 3, 2017, at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods with Pastor Jim Pridemore officiating. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park in Huntington, W.Va.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 2, 2017, at the funeral home.
