Clarice's Story

Clarice Y. Norman, 94, of Greenup, died Wednesday, April 26, 2017.
She was born Sept. 9, 1922, in Frost, Ohio, the daughter of the late Ernest Eugene and Almeda Barnhart Linton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her faithful, loving husband of 73 years, George Everett Norman of Greenup; five brothers, Evan (Helen), Earl (Nellie) and Bernard (Lois) Linton, all of Athens, Ohio, Forest (Virgene) Linton of Coolville, Ohio and Robert (Ruth) Linton of Wilmington, N.C.; two sisters, Fern Secoy (George) of Perrysville, Ohio and Lillian Dye (Paul) of Boise, Idaho; and one grandson, David Everett Norman of Russell.
Clarice was a legal secretary and worked for W. Terry McBrayer in Greenup, Grey, Woods and Cooper in Ashland and Ilardo, Ilardo and Sheedy in Hamburg, N.Y. She retired in 1980 as an executive secretary from Houston Natural Gas Corporation in Texas. She was a Kentucky colonel and a member of Greenup Christian Church. She loved her family, being a homemaker and gardening, especially roses.
Clarice is survived by her sister, Janice McGee of Athens, Ohio; a daughter, Judith E. Sharp of Louisville; two sons, John D. Norman (Jody) of Russell and Michael R. Norman (Sujata) of Albertville, Ala.; eight grandchildren, Lisa Campbell (Sid), Lori Bradford (David), Donald Sharp Jr and Philip Sharp (Charlsie), all of Louisville, Jessie Boggs (Kenny), of Harrisburg, N.C., John E. Norman (Alecia), of Lexington, Trent Norman (Julia) of Cincinnati, Ohio and Julie Miller (Thomas) of Lexington; 14 great-grandchildren, Taylor Johnson (Bobby), Krissi Crain (Jonathan), Trey Campbell, Lindsey Sharp, Sophia and Stella Sharp, all of Louisville, Cameron and Connor Boggs of Harrisburg, N.C., Tanner Norman of Cincinnati, Ohio; Lottie and CeCe Hubbard and Harold Everett Norman of Lexington, Lyla and Finley Miller of Lexington; three great-great-grandchildren, Peyton Thompson of Louisville and RJ and Clarice Johnson of Roseville, Mich.; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2017, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup with Pastor Mike Dennis officiating. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2017, and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
