Darin Lynnwood Thomas, 52, of Ashland, passed away Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017, in St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va., with his family by his side.
He was born Jan. 23, 1965, in Ashland, the son of Dallas L. Thomas and the late Barbara Franklin Thomas.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a sister, Danah Thomas; and a granddaughter, Baileigh.
He was a retired Millwright/Carpenter for Local Union 1076 and of the Catholic Faith. He was a 1983 graduate of Paul Blazer High School and an avid Tomcat fan all of his life. Darin will be remembered for his infectious laugh and the love for his wife, family and friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Devona McGranahan Thomas; four children, Charles Johnson, Jaclyn McGranahan, Natasha (Willis) Phillips and Shateka Jacob; a sister, Dwinn (Michael) Wood; a brother, David Thomas; 16 grandchildren, Miles, Noah, Malika, Khalfani, Marcus, Abbey, Meah, Patrick, Jackson, Donovan, Maxwell, Haley, Braxton, Joseph, Brooklyn and Hayden.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017, at Miller Funeral Home in Ashland with Minister Walter Thomas officiating.
