Delbert Boggs, 83, of Flatwoods, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017, in Cabell Huntington Hospital.
He was born Feb. 23, 1934, in Sacred Wind, to the late John D. and Opal Boggs.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, three brothers, Ellis Boggs, Ora Elwood and Janis Boggs; a sister, Inus Edwards; and his first wife, Anna Ruth.
Delbert proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a coin and gun collector who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He loved spending time with his family and friends and was known as a joker.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Faye Boggs; three daughters, Pamela (Charles) Terry of Greenup, Marsha (Johnny) Rowe of Grayson and Tammy (Sean) Hopkins of Windsor, ON; a son, James Perkins of Ironton, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Dalton Terry, Gaylyn Terry, John Cody Rowe, Joshua Wiedel, Jason Wiedel, Natasha Dawn Perkins, Tiffany Mashawn Perkins and Sierra Michelle Perkins, 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, James (Linda) Boggs of Louisa; eight sisters, Bernice Stevens of Wurtland, Leona Cooper of Westwood, Sylvia Bellamy of Ashland, Dottie (James) Graham of Greenup, Daphine (Richard) Boggs of Ashland, Geraldine (Amos) Thornsberry of Westwood, Susie (Doug) Slone of Grayson and Arlene Gillum of Isonville; and several other nieces, nephews and family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. Monday, May 8, 2017, at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods with Steve Fraley and The Rev. Tim Porter Officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast in Greenup County. Pallbearers will be Dalton, Cody, Brent, Gaylord, Sean and Tim.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, May 7, 2017, at the funeral home.
