Della Opal Vincell, 91, of Ashland, died peacefully Sunday, Dec. 25, 2016, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
She was born Aug. 25, 1925, in Frazier's Bottom, W.Va., a daughter of the late John Henry and Virgie Williams Young.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, The Rev. Tom Vincell, in 1994; two brothers, John Henry Young and Phillip Young; and eight sisters, Edna Edwards, Katherine Freeman, Mary Stahl, Marguarite Vaughn, Eva Robillard, Charlotte Slone, Glenna Blankenship and Clara Smith.
Opal was a member and former Elder at First Presbyterian Church in Ashland.
She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl (Butch) Case of Cynthiana, Debbie (Larry) Slone of Shelbyville and Beth (Stu) Taylor of Ashland; a sister, Phyllis Varney of Pinsonfork; seven grandchildren, Katie Jones, Amanda Case, Emily Case, Chris Case, Chris Slone, Danielle Eldridge and R.T. Case; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016, at Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland with The Rev. Julie Rucker Olt officiating. Burial will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.
Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
