Denver Lee Stewart, 67, of Ashland, passed away Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016, in King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
Denver was born April 16, 1949, in Ashland, to the late Ellis and Juanita Caudill Stewart. In addition to his parents, Denver was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Gothard.
Denver was a retired police officer with the City of Russell, a member of the Russell Fraternal Order of Police and a member of American Legion Post 76 Clarence Fields Post.
Denver leaves behind two sons, Denver Stewart II (Denise) of Catlettsburg, and Christopher Stewart (Christie) of Ashland; a brother, Charles Stewart of Russell; a sister, Barbara Stewart of Flatwoods; five grandchildren, Logan Stewart, Katie Stewart, Shannon Franklin, Savanna Stewart and Kerri Stewart; two great-grandchildren, Carson Scott and Lorelei Landers; along with a host of extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016, at Caniff Funeral Home in Westwood with Pastor Roger Branham officiating.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
