Dorsie Glen Roy, 72, of Westwood, died Saturday, May 6, 2017, in Ashland, following a sudden illness.
Dorsie was born Nov. 10, 1944, in Cabell County, W.Va., a son of the late Callie Lewis and Mabel Bradberry Roy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his wife, Priscilla Sue Barber in 2009; two brothers, Buddy Bradberry and Philip Roy; and two sisters, Jo Ellen Arbaugh and Bonnie Bowen.
He was retired from the U.S. Navy and a former machinist with Fairchild Machine Shop.
He is survived by two sons, Glen Andrew Roy of Westwood and John Chancie (Bari) Roy of Ceredo,W.Va.; a daughter, Denise Darcel Roy Meeks of Westwood; a sister, Sue (Mike)Eckhart of Proctorville, Ohio; 10 grandchildren, Glen Andrew Roy II, Brent Anthony Roy, Samantha Ann Roy, Alex Chance Roy, Jessica Mikayla Meeks, Cassidy Brooke Roy, Erick Russell Meeks, Jackson Callie Roy, Rachel Danielle Meeks and Jordan Michelle Meeks; six great-grandchildren, J'cion Dorsie Roy; Trent, Tanner and Mason Roy and Alex and Ryley Rucker; and a host of nieces and nephews that loved him very much.
Memorial services will be at 5 p.m. Sunday, May 14, 2017, at United Steel Workers Local 1865 Hall, 734 Carter Avenue in Ashland.
Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the steel workers hall.
Preston Family Funeral Home in Ashland is in charge of arrangements.
