Elizabeth Ratliff, 89, of Flatwoods, passed away Sunday March 27, 2017, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
Elizabeth was born April 2, 1927, in Olive Hill to the late Wylie and Nora McDavid Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Thomas Ratliff; a brother, Wylie Johnson Jr.; three sisters, Lorraine Hamilton, Mary Wilcox and Alyce Roseberry.
Elizabeth was a wonderful seamstress and cook, she sewed and baked for many people in the community.
In addition to being a loving wife, mother, homemaker and devoted Mamaw, she was an active volunteer in the community such as the Westwood Fire Auxiliary, treasurer of Fairview Band Boosters, PTA and other volunteer programs. She was a member of the Westwood Enterprise Baptist Church.
Elizabeth is survived by four daughters, Vickie Howlett (Charles Howlett) of Valkaria, Fla., Marsha Henson (David Henson) of Louisa, Gemma Lozano (Mario Lozano) of Laporte, Texas, and Jill Ralph (Mike Ralph) of Palestine, Texas; a son, Thomas W. Ratliff (Angela Ratliff) of Amelia, Ohio; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 30, 2017, at Caniff Funeral Home in Westwood.
