Elsie's Story

Elsie Louise Hodge, 80, of Ashland, formerly of Wayne, W.Va., passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017, in Community Hospice Care Center.
She was born May 26, 1936, in Genoa, W.Va., a daughter of the late John Wesley and Laura Mae Zornes Hurley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Cloyd E. Hodge Sr.; five brothers; and five sisters.
She was a member of Hodge Memorial Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by six children, Helen (John) McKinney, Cloyd E. "Junebug" (Linda) Hodge Jr., Kimberly (Mike) Sturgill, Dorsel Paul (Tammy) Hodge, Johnny (Shelley) Hodge and Barbie (Carl) Coffey; one sister, Launa Geraldine "Shack" (Jason) Elliott; a special grandson, David Reynolds; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were all special to her in their own way.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 19, 2017, at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova, W.Va. Interment will be in Hurley Cemetery.
Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
