Frances Elizabeth Gillum Bailey, 90 of Martha, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2017, at her home.
She was born Aug. 20, 1926, in Elliott County, the daughter of the late Francis Marion and Mary Louranie Watson Gillum.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ishmael Bailey on Dec. 12, 2015; eight sisters and brothers-in-law, Gertrude and Elmer Brickey, Jennifer Gillum, Blanche and Walter Whitt, Gustava and Elvie Everman, Dovie and John Sparks, Sophie and John Adkins, Mary Jane and Donald Yates and Lucille and Elmer Smith; and a son-in-law, Bill Holbrook.
Mrs. Bailey was manager of Bank of Blaine for over 25 years. She loved to sew dresses and skirts for people. She enjoyed many hobbies, reading, kniting and crocheting. She loved watching her hummingbirds and enjoyed music. Above all this, she loved her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Pamela Holbrook of West Liberty and Mary Janis and husband Jim Green of Westchester, Ohio; four grandchildren, Kristi Huff, Rebecca McShane and husband Chad, Regan Aymett and husband Stephen and Megan Hardin and husband Brent; and six great-grandchildren, Haley McShane, Blake McShane, Ava Hardin, Owen Aymett, Gwen Hardin and Gray Hardin.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017, at Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home in Sandy Hook with Brother Allen Ison officiating. Burial will be in Elliott County Memory Gardens.
Friends may call after noon Saturday at the funeral home.
