Freddie D. Bundy, We will know as we are known in Heaven. Until that time, Fred, know you are loved and will be missed. You have run the race set before us and crowns await as your testimony rings true. Eph 2:2-9, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, June 6, 2017, in Community Hospice Center in Ashland.
He was born Oct. 30, 1947, in Ashland, the son of the late Freddie D. Bundy Sr. and Virginia Louise Ferguson (Bill).
He was preceded in death by Judy M. Welch Bundy, his loving wife of 33 years.
He was a 1966 graduate of Raceland High School and was inducted as a member of the 3rd class of the Raceland Football Hall of Fame. He served his country in the U.S. Navy as an Aviation Ordinance Handler aboard CVA-59 the USS Forrestal during Vietnam. He was a member of American Legion Post 325. He retired from Chesapeake and Ohio Railway after 44 years of service as a clerk/yardmaster. He was an avid swimmer at the Ashland YMCA, once holding distance swim records. He was a member of Worthington First Baptist Church, where he also served as a trustee.
He is survived by Peggy Bundy, his loving wife of 9 years; his children, Melanie (Tom) Martin, David (Bew) Wells, Kimberly (Ray) Canafax, Misti (Josh) Rister, Randy (Debbie) Moore, David (Sarah) Moore, Alan (Anne) Parrott; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and four siblings, Larry (Mindy) Bundy, Steve (Sherry) Bundy, Arlene (Jimmy) Riggs and Ruth Ann (Bill) Melton.
The celebration of his going home will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, June 9, 2017, at Worthington First Baptist Church where friends and family may gather beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods with military rites.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 8, 2017, at Evans Funeral Home in Raceland.
