Geneva V. Anderson, 89, of Greenup, went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016, in King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
She was born May 31, 1927, in Greenup County, a daughter of the late John and Flora Belford Adkins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her husband, Ward Anderson in 1979.
She worked till she was 88 years old as the owner and operator of Anderson's Grocery on E.K. Road in Greenup. She was a member of Greenup First Baptist Church and a graduate of Raceland High School Class of 1946.
She is survived by two sons, Hobart Ward Anderson and wife Traci of Russell and Randy R. Anderson and wife Sandy of Ashland; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; four special friends, Gail Virgin, Ann Walters, Virgie Meeks and Juanita Gullett; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 2, 2017, at Greenup First Baptist Church with Dr. Tom Melvin officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery in Greenup.
Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Monday at the church.
