Hager's Story

Hager Wray Chaffin, 77, of Ashland, went to be with his Lord Saturday, May 13, 2017, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
Mr. Chaffin was born Feb. 13, 1940, in Boyd County, to the late John G. and Burnette Ball Chaffin.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Wilma Carroll.
Hager was a car enthusiast, enjoyed coloring and listening to music. He was an avid University of Kentucky Basketball and Cincinnati Reds fan.
Hager is survived by one brother, John Lee Chaffin of Vinton, Ohio; three nieces, Leesa Carroll of Ashland, Stephanie (Mark) Hightower of South Carolina and Tina Brunner of Kansas; a nephew, Robert Chaffin; a great-niece, Halie Hightower; numerous other nieces and nephews; and special friends, Mike and Alice Gregory.
The family would like to extend a apecial thanks to all Hager's caregivers at Boyd Nursing and Rehab Center, KDMC and Community Hospice.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday May 17, 2017, at Neal Funeral Home in Catlettsburg with Pastor Mike Rice officiating. Final resting place will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.
Visitation will be after noon Wednesday at the funeral home.
