Hallie Miller Rice Early, 86, of Russell, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 2, 2017, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
Hallie was born July 19, 1930, in Lambrie, Ky., to the late Oscar Miller and Alifair Wright Miller.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Howard B. Rice in 1968; and her second husband, William W. Early in 2013; five brothers, Gordon Miller, James L. Miller, Douglas R. Miller, Glenn Miller and Ralph Miller; two sisters, Pherbie Gallion and Betty M. Jenkins; and a stepdaughter, Pam Early.
Hallie was a homemaker and a member of Fairview Baptist Church.
She is survived by her cherished sons and daughters-in-law, James C. (Teresa) Rice of Ashland and Denver R. (Kim) Rice of Greenup; four stepchildren, Marsha (Fred) Anderson, William W. (Elizabeth) Early Jr., Melinda Early (Jonathon) Beatson and Paula Early (Dick) Meade; two brothers, Pearl (Norma) Miller and Carl (Sybil) Miller; a sister, Bessie Miller Stennett; a sister-in-law, Vina Miller; two grandchildren, Amanda Rogers and Matthew D. Rice; and 10 stepgrandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017, at Preston Family Funeral Home in Ashland with Brother Mike Rice officiating. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
