Hazel J. "Betty" Wilson, 76, of South Point, Ohio, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2016, at her residence, after an extended illness.
Hazel was born Oct. 4, 1940, in Pikeville, a daughter to the late James and Minnie Harrington Mulkey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Joe Wilson; and sisters, Marie Wilson, Lyzzie Blankenship, JoAnne Hensley and Aileen Little.
She was a homemaker and a devout Christian.
She is survived by two brothers, Dennis Mulkey of Youngstown, Ohio and Newt Mulkey of Coal Grove, Ohio; a sister, Ruth White of Youngstown, Ohio; five children, Roy (Laura) Wilson of South Point, Ohio, Dennis (Brenda) Wilson of Midway, Georgia, Catherine (Robert) Ross of Kenova, W.Va., Karen (James) Wood of South Point, Ohio and Roger (Patricia) Wilson of South Point, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Jacqueline Henry, Kevin Wilson, Jessica Salyers, Stacie Wilson, Dennis Wilson, Jessica Wilson, Justin Wood and Austin Wood; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at noon Saturday, Dec., 31, 2016 at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home with The Rev. Jimmy Morrison officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Ironton, Ohio.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30, 2016. at the funeral home.
