Helen B. Trumbo Artis, 96, of Ashland, passed away peacefully at her home Sunday, June 11, 2017.
She was born Oct. 30, 1920, in Russell, the daughter of the late Paul and Maude Butler Trumbo. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 76 years, John H. Artis; a brother, Paul Trumbo Jr.; and a sister and brother-in-law, Mildred (Bob) Smart.
Survivors include a son, John W. Artis of Ashland; two daughters, Carol (Bill) Spining of Brentwood, Tenn., and Kay A. Smith of Nicholasville; five grandchildren, Carl (Erin) Spining, Laura (Andy) Dodson, Julie (Craig) Miller, Mark (Patty) Spining and Jenny (Adrian) Alverson; and 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Trumbo of Falls Church, Va.
The family would like to thank Judy, Kerry and Anita for their wonderful loving care.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 15, 2017, at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Street officiating.
Friends may call after 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Miller Funeral Home in Ashland is in charge of arrangements.
