James Richard "Tank" Parsons, 73, of Westwood, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
He was the son of the late Morley Ray and Thelma Clotine Queen Parsons. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Jo Bush Parsons; and a brother, Arville Ray Parsons and Arville's wife Katherine French Parsons.
James did not have a home church but did come to know the lord before he passed.
James worked for the Bluegrass Grill as a professional maintenance and was part owner of Westwood Janitorial Services.
James is survived by two sisters, Dreama Ramonia Arthur and Regina Diane Boggs; three nephews, Michael J. Arthur, Joshua D. Boggs and James R. Boggs; great-nieces and nephews, Serena Arthur, Lillyana Arthur, Haleigh Boggs and Martin Boggs.
Funeral services for James will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 8, 2017, at Lazear Funeral Home Chapel in Ashland by pastors Mark Day and Chad Haggard. Burial will be in Dixon Cemetery in Westwood.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at the funeral home.
