Janice Elaine Evans LeBrun, 74, of Ashland, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2017, in University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.
Janice was born April 4, 1942, in Ashland, to the late Randolph Eugene and Mary Porter Evans.
In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Emmerson LeBrun in 2004.
Janice graduated in 1960 from Fairview High School. She received her BA degree from Marshall University and master's degree from Morehead University. She was a former teacher and retired from Russell Independent School district. She was a member of Westwood Free Will Baptist Church, where she was very active in many church activities. Janice loved art and was a Member of Kentucky Creative Arts Club and Tri-State Arts. As a local artist, she taught painting classes at Pendleton Art Center, Hobby Lobby, and her home. She loved calligraphy and was a member of Bellefonte Garden Club.
Janice leaves behind three loving daughters, Joy Moll of Lexington, Kelinda (Wesley) Davis of Lexington and Debra Elaine (Mark) Faulk of Raceland; one brother, Gene (Mae) Evans of Flatwoods; three grandchildren, Matthew Boettger of Ashland, Kasey (Kery) Moore of Flatwoods and Mary Rayne LeBrun of South Point, Ohio; two great-grandchildren, Kaylee Rice and David Grubbs; and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, at Westwood Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Ivan Asbury officiating. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods.
Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Caniff Funeral Home in Westwood is in charge of arrangements.
