Jerry Dean "Sack" Brown, 74, of Worthington, passed away Friday, April 28, 2017, in Wurtland.
Jerry was born Aug. 13, 1942, in Jacksonville, Fla., a son of the late Charles and Juanita Collins Brown.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Sue Kiger Brown; and one brother, Charles Gary Brown.
Jerry was a 1960 graduate of Raceland High School. He retired from CSX Railroad and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers with more than 40 years of service. He was on the Board of C&O Federal Credit Union and an active member of Greenup County Democratic Party, for which he proudly served as county chairman. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and of the Methodist faith.
He is survived by two daughters, Tanny Brown of Ashland and Mindy and Eric Keeton of Raceland; one brother, Ronald Brown of Raceland; five grandchildren, Michael Brown, Taray Brown, Rashae Brown, Zoey Hope Keeton and Zaylee Faith Keeton; and numerous other family and friends who loved him dearly. Jerry will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be at noon Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup with Dr. Tom Melvin officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East in Greenup County with military rites by Kenova American Legion Post 93 Honor Guards.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, May 1, 2017, at the funeral home.
