Jo Ann's Story
Jo Ann Stephens, 75, of Wallow Hole in Elliott County, passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2017, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, after an extended illness.
Jo Ann was born May 19, 1941, in Flatwoods, to Clyde and Hazel Stevens Clarke of Greenup County.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Regina Stephens: two brothers, Harold and Gary Clarke; and a sister, Shirley McIntyre.
She was a retired teachers aide at Isonville Elementary school, where she was known as "Ms Jo." She enjoyed cooking, gardening, shopping and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was of the Christian faith.
Jo is suvived by her husband of more than 50 years, Charles Stephens; two daughters, Sheila Adams and husband Joe and Vivki Haddad and husband Bruce of Louisville; a brother, Wilbert Clarke and wife Nancy of Flatwoods; five grandciliren, Joshua, Jordan Adams, Danielle, and Derek Haddad and Jade Brown; and one great-grandson, Vincent.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2017, at Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home in Sandy Hood.
Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
