Larry Jarvis, 71, of Rush, passed away Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017, in Community Hospice, after a brief illness with his family by his side. He was born April 30, 1946, in Rush, the son of the late Odist and Pauline Burke Jarvis.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Oliver Ray Jarvis, Warren Jarvis and James O. Jarvis; and one sister, Shirlene Stewart.
He was retired from Kentucky Electric Steel and attended Mt. Olive Freewill Baptist Church in Rush.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Carlene Pendleton Jarvis; one daughter, Sabrina (Baron) Holbrook of Rush; one stepson, Bobby (Mary) Blevins of Ashland; three brothers, his twin, Gary Jarvis of Rush, David (Judy) Jarvis of Ashland and Owen Jarvis of Russell; one sister, Judy Rakes of Rush; two grandchildren, Jason Dean (Ashley) Holbrook and Katelynn Holbrook; one stepgrandchild, Tyler Blevins; three great-granddaughters, Savanah Beth Ryan, Caroline Marie Holbrook and Addison Rose Castle; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 4, 2017 at Miller Funeral Home by Pastor Keith Crum. Burial will be in Ross Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mt. Olive Freewill Baptist Church.
