Laura Feledra "Tookie" Howard Reams, 76, of Ashland, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, May 12, 2017, with her family and loved ones by her side.
She was born May 18, 1940, in Harlan County, a daughter of the late William Frye and Octa Maugins Blanton Howard.
She was a graduate of Wallins Creek High School and Eastern Kentucky University, where she received a Master's Degree in Interior Design. She taught at Morehead State University and retired as a space planner at Ashland Oil.
She is survived by her husband, C. Alan Reams of Ashland; a daughter, Laura Melissa (Barry) Jent of Ashland; a son, Billy Maurice (Renee) Dixon of Marietta, Ga.; two stepsons, Chris Alan (Tami) Reams of Winter Haven, Fla., and Billy Gene Reams of Lakeland, Fla.; a brother, John Robert (Betty) Howard of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; a sister, Marlana Sue (Larry) Hatton of Richmond; two grandchildren, Lauren Shea Fannin and Christian Drew Fannin; and a host of extended family members and dear friends.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital ICU and Community Hospice for the exceptional care Feledra received during her final days.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 15, 2017, at Calvary Episcopal Church with The Rev. TJ Azar officiating. A graveside service will be at noon Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at Park-Howard Cemetery in Wallins Creek.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 14, 2017, at Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland.
