Mabel Marie Stewart Jeter, 95, of South Point, Ohio, passed into joyful eternity April 10, 2017, in St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va.
She was the youngest daughter of Oliver and Sadie Stewart and was born April 1, 1922, in Boyd County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold C. Jeter; her parents; and her siblings, Charles, Wilbur, Ruby and Mary.
Mabel spent her working years as a devoted school teacher with many former students remembering her fondly even to present day.
She was a member of the Lawrence County Retired Teachers Association, Ohio Retired Teachers Association, a 50 plus year member of the Grange and an active member of South Point First Church of God and truly reflected the image of Christ.
She is survived by her sister, Hazel Scott of Raceland; her legacy includes her children, Carole (Arthur) Broughton of South Point, and Hal (Teresa) Jeter of Ashland; she adored her grandchildren, Mike (Amy) Broughton, Joe (Billee) Butcher, Gary (Tia) Broughton, Ginny (Josh) Brown and Leslie (Rocky) Fannin; her great-grandchildren, Robbie, Alaina, Jeffery, Shelby, Nateli-Jo, Ben, Gracie, Charleigh, Macie, Ella Mae and Madelyn; and a special thanks to Debbie Blankenship for her loving care and kindness.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 13, 2017, at Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, 518 S. Sixth St. in Ironton with the Rev. Paul McNurlin officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Ironton.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at the funeral home.
