Marie Bell Blake, 91, of Ashland, went to her eternal rest Monday, June 5, 2017, at the home of her son, Kevin Blake, in Federal Way, Wash.
She was born Dec. 7, 1925, in Ashland, to the late Alfred M. and Mary Nell West Bell.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas Blake; four brothers, Alexander, Alfred Jr., Kenneth Louis and Ralston Bell; and a sister, Jessie Irene Glass.
She was a lifelong member of Johnson Memorial CME Church, which she attended faithfully until her health declined.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Casandra (Garner) Ford of Frankfort, Mary Blake of Shelbyville, Carol (Charles) Jackson of Ashland and Jennifer Blake of Lexington; two sons, Aaron (Kim) Blake of Tacoma, Wash., and Kevin (Kristeen) Blake of Federal Way, Wash.; sixteen grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A memorial service will be at noon Saturday, June 24, 2017, at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Daryl Williams and Rev. Denzella Letcher officiating.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospice, 1480 Carter Ave., Ashland, KY 41101.
