Mary Louise Clemons, 72, of Point Place, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016.
She was born Dec. 1, 1944, in Huntington, W.Va., to Donald Edwin Blake and Betty Kazee Hutchinson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Clemons, whom she married June 9, 1963 in Ashland, Ky.
Mary was a homemaker most of her life and then in 1989, along with her husband, became owner of Portage Trail Canoe Livery in Fremont, Ohio, for 10 years with their first full season in 1990. They would spend 6 months out of the year in Fremont. They formed a parent-like bond with many of the young adult workers who would say it was a "life changing relationship for them". Most of her interests revolved around her husband, James, and always providing for and meeting his needs, as well as those of her family. She loved her grandchildren very much.
Left to cherish Mary's memory are her daughters, Tamara Ellis, Sandra (Greg) Finbar, and Mary Julia Ann Clemons; six grandchildren, Adam, Lindsay (Lance), Katie (Jacob), Kyla, Blake, and Reece; a great-grandson, Daniel; four cousins, Gloria Jean Sturgill, James Browder, Rex Allen Stickler, and Charles Blake; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Condolences may be sent to hoeningfuneralhome.com.
A private family service will be at a later date.
