Mary Ellen "Dollie" Skaggs, 62, of Isonville, passed away Friday, July 21, 2017, in UK Medical Center in Lexington.
She was born June 30, 1955, in Moon, the daughter of the late Doc Conn and Gustavalia Sparks Eldridge.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter,Glenna Adkins; a grandson, Watson Glenn Adkins; five brothers, Homer, Benny, Henry and Jeff Eldridge; and a sister, Bertha Wagoner.
Dollie was a folk artist that loved to show her art anytime she could but especially at the annual Minnie Adkins Day Show. She was a homemaker that loved her husband and children so much.
She is survived by her husband, Guy Skaggs; three children, Crystal Howard and Glenis, Rhoda Lewis and Dale of Sandy Hook and Gladys Dickerson of Lexington; a brother, James Eldridge of Morehead; five sisters, Wandalene Smith of Sandy Hook, Lorene Maler of Morehead, Ellen Porter and Connie Lewis, both of Isonville and Martha Hudson of Indiana; 13 grandchildren, two that she claimed as her own, Gregory Maxie and Jason Brangard; and her special friends, Minnie Adkins, Brenda Geoff and Emma Blankenship.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, July 24, 2017, at Newcombe Valley Church.
Friends may call after 11 a.m. Monday at the church.
Lewis and Ferguson Funeral Home in Sandy Hook is in charge of arrangements.
