Michael Ray Calhoun, 70, of Flatwoods, passed away Aug. 13, 2017, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.
Mr. Calhoun was born June 15, 1947, in Ironton, Ohio to the late Clarence and Thelma Calhoun.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Calhoun; a daughter, Evelyn Gail Calhoun; two brothers, Danny Calhoun and John Calhoun.
Michael was of the Baptist Faith. He was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Navy from 1966 to 1970, where he served on the USS America. He was a member of American Legion Post 325 and loved to fish.
He is survived by one daughter, Donna Calhoun; a stepson, James Dickens; two grandchildren, James Dickens Jr. and Jennifer Dickens; a brother, Douglas (Brenda) Calhoun; two nephews, Doug (Meredith) Calhoun and Michael (Jeannie) Calhoun; a niece, Christina (Eric) Vincent; three special cousins, Joyce Adkins, Evelyn Young and Ruth Porter; very special brothers and sisters-in-law from Michael's late wife; and a host of family and friends.
A private service was Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017 in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
