Nancy E. Hamilton, 70, of Ashland, passed away Monday, March 6, 2017, under the care of Community Hospice in Wurtland Nursing and Rehabilitation, with her loving family at her side.
Nancy was born Jan. 14, 1947, in Ashland, a daughter of the late Earl Hamilton and Nancy Jane Barnhart.
Nancy was a lifelong resident of Ashland and a graduate of Paul Blazer High School. She attended the surgical tech program at Ashland Community College and was soon employed with King's Daughters Medical Center in the labor and delivery department.
Nancy loved roller skating at the former Blacks Roller Rink in Ashland, playing cards, bingo and watching UK Basketball. She also enjoyed watching the Golden Girls TV show.
She is survived by her daughter, Shelley Puryear of Ashland; a sister, Debra Barnhart of Ashland; a son, Chad Buchannon of Ashland; her lifelong friend, Linda Jenkins; her goddaughter, Kim McClements; her grandchildren whom she adored, Troy Hush, Shyanne Hush, Makayla Hush, Kali Buchannon and Bonham Buchannon; one uncle; five aunts; a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2017 at Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland with Jane Kincaid officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
