Nellie Marie Scott Patton, 70, of Franklin Furnace, Ohio, formerly of South Shore, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2017, in UK Medical Center in Lexington, with her family by her side.
She was born March 14, 1947, in Greenup, a daughter of the late Gilbert and Pearl Hunt Nickel.
In addition to her parents, Nellie was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Scott, whom passed away June 13, 2013; and two brothers, Harold Nickel and Leroy Nickel.
She was a member of Sunshine United Methodist Church, a retired manager at Big Sandy Furniture Store and had worked at the Greenup County Judge Executive's office.
She is survived by her husband, Rich Patton, whom she married Sept. 19, 2015; one daughter, Melissa (Jeff) Holmes of South Shore; one son, Jay (Tracy) Brewer of Prattville, Ala.; one stepdaughter, Karen Bellipanni of Rapid City, S.D.; one stepson, Stephen Patton of Rapid City, S.D.; three brothers, Arthur (Phyllis) Nickel of South Shore, Richard (Teresa) Nickel of South Shore and Tom (Edie) Nickel of Knoxville, Tenn.; one sister, Tammy (Tim) Adkins of Lucasville, Ohio; ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 1, 2017, at Sunshine United Methodist Church in South Shore with Rev. Bob Sweeney, Jack Hall and Robbie Vanhoose officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery in South Shore.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017, at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore and after 10 a.m. Friay at the church.
