Perry Potter, 68, of Smithton, Ill., passed away Aug. 8, 2017, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, Penn.
Mr. Potter was born April 19, 1949, in Ashland, to the late George and Geneieve Potter.
Perry was a member of Boy Scouts of America for over 60 years. He was on the board of Smithton Senior Center and Community Garden. He was a volunteer with Violence Prevention Center in Belleville, Ill., Labor and Industry Museum. He was a member of Society of American Military Engineers, a UK Alumni, and a past president of St. Louis UK Alumni.
He is survived by is his wife, Wilma Barney Potter of Smithton, Ill.; two sons, Christopher (Diane) Potter of Ramstein, Germany, and George Potter of Chicago, Ill.; two grandchildren, Micheal and Jessica Potter of Ramstein, Germany; six brothers and sisters, Helen Potter and Frances Potter of Flatwoods, Joyce (Larry) Averill of West Palm Beach, Fla., George R. (Hilary) Potter of San Luis Obispo, Calif., Roger (Pamela) Potter of Ashland and James (Sherry) Potter of Russell; and a special godson, Robert Gann of Hawaii.
Funeral services will be at noon Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017, at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods.
Friends may call after 10 am Saturday at the funeral home.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 13, 2017, at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Center, Boy Scouts of America, Simon Kenton Council, or John James Audubon State Park-Picture Restoration Fund.
