Phyllis Ann Nichols Maynard, 80, of Catlettsburg, passed away Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016, at her home.
Mrs. Maynard was born Oct. 23, 1936, in Ashland, to the late William Okey and Maymie Katherine Mullins Nichols.
Phyllis was married to the love of her life, Claren Fredrick Maynard for 57 years, until his passing in 2013.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Nathaniel, W.R., James Okey, Paul, Patricia and Phillip.
She was a nursing instructor for ACTC and retired from KDMC as a Registered Nurse. Her hobbies included gardening, grandchildren, nursing and teaching.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Claren F. (Joann) Maynard Jr. of Catlettsburg, Gary E. (Carolyn) Maynard of Catlettsburg, Timothy B. (Bryan Morris) Maynard of Tampa, Fla., Lawrence V. (Donna) Maynard of Lexington and Peggy S. (Johnny) Page of Ashland; 24 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Randy (Sandi) Nichols of Barboursville, W.Va., Keith Nichols of Ashland, and Karl (Debbie) Nichols of Ashland; and three sisters, Debbie (George) Haines of Flatwoods, Karen (Bucky Tarring) of Charley and Lynn Christian of Ashland.
A funeral service to celebrate Mrs. Maynard's life will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, 2016, at Neal Funeral Home in Catlettsburg with Pastor Tim Porter officiating. Her final resting place will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Park in Ashland.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Funeral Home.
