Richard C. Arthur Sr., 80, of Ashland, died Friday, March 3, 2017, in Kingsbrook Life Care Center in Ashland.
Richard was born March 10, 1936, in Ashland, a son of the late Richard H. and Marjorie E. Rahlmann Arthur. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Richard C. Arthur Jr.; and four brothers, Tom, Carl, Charles and Ronnie Arthur.
He was a retired truck driver, he attended Fairview Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army Veteran serving doing the Korean War.
He is survived by four sons and their wives, Charles L. and Joetta Arthur of Ashland, Roger D. and Beth Arthur of Nashville, Tenn., Mark D. Arthur of Fremont, Neb., and Danny R. and Shar Arthur of Omaha, Neb.; three daughters, Tammy R. Armstrong of Fremont, Kathy L. Arthur of Fremont, and Mary Beth Ernesti and her husband, Mark, of El Paso, Texas; four brothers, Gary and Don Arthur both of Catlettsburg, and Ken and Jerry Arthur both of Ashland; and a sister, Dorothy Salyers of Catlettsburg.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at Lazear Funeral Home Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Frank Hulett. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East in Greenup County with military honors by Ceredo-Kenova American Legion Post 93.
Friends may call after noon Wednesday at the funeral home.
