Robert "Bobby D" Martin, 79, of Argillite, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
He was born Dec. 10, 1937, in Greenup County, a son of the late Robert Lee and Carrie Lee Blevins Martin.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Roy Martin, Eugene Martin, Edward Martin, Ralph Martin and Troy Martin; and two sisters, Lucy Mae Stepp and Betty Hamilton.
He was a member of Glory Hill Community Church in Grayson. He was a retired union sheet metal worker with 33 years of service and a member of Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 98. Bobby D was a tobacco farmer, an avid gardener and loved to play horseshoes.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Eula Faye Claxon Martin; a son, Robert Douglas Martin and wife Jennifer of Argillite; a daughter, Carrie Lene Glass and husband Kyle of Argillite; four sisters, Ruth Rose of Raceland, Josephine Bradford of Grayson, Dorothy Forbes of Argillite and Phyllis Rose of Argillite; four grandchildren, Sarah Knipp and husband Ryan, Drew Glass and wife Tina, Zach Martin and Kayla Satterfield and husband Randy; a great grandchild, Ava Satterfield; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Sunday, March 12, 2017, at Wright's Funeral Home in Greenup with Brothers Don Pope, Chris Bellew and Brian Flannery officiating. Burial will be in Martin Cemetery in Argillite.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Saturday and after 11 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
