Robert Louis Stephens, 82, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2017, surrounded by his family.
He was born Oct. 10, 1934, in Big Lost Creek Area of Samaria, to Oral and Naomi Harris Stephens. In addition to his parents, He was preceded in death by his lovely wife, Lois Arlene Bellore Stephens.
Robert was the youngest of two children and graduated from Wurtland High School.
He retired as a Horticulture Specialist from Disney. He enhanced the grounds at Disney and had a passion for gardening. In his spare time, he could be found gardening, fishing or playing baseball. Robert never met a stranger and was generous to anyone who crossed his path. He was innovative and an inspiration to all he met.
He is survived by his sons, Craig and Eric Stephens; a daughter, Julie Shuford; two grandchildren, Nicholas and Nathan; a brother, Cecil Stephens; a best friend, Margaret Mounce; and a host of relatives and family friends.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 16, 2017, at Edgewood Greenwood Cemetery in Apopka, Fla.
Baldwin Brothers in Apopka is in charge of arrangements.
