Shirley Jean Stidham Griffith, 72, of Grayson, entered Heaven's gate Wednesday, March 29, 2017, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell surrounded by her loving family.
Shirley was born Oct. 6, 1944, in Greenup, County, a daughter of the late Harry and Dova Mae Frasher Stidham. In to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Howard; two sisters, Mary Frances Johnson and Anita Endicott; a brother, Jack Stidham; and four brothers-in-law, Larry Jarvis, Charles Endicott, Ollie Johnson and George Burton.
Shirley was a Christian, a member of Upper Bruin Enterprise Baptist Church. Shirley was a graduate of Prichard High School class of 1962. Shirley loved her family especially her precious grandchildren.
Shirley enjoyed cooking, University of Kentucky basketball and traveling to Myrtle Beach.
Shirley is survived by a son, Tony (Crystal) Griffith of Sandy Hook; three grandchildren, Cameron Griffith, Dustin (Jenny) Howard and Donnie Howard Jr.; five great-grandchildren, Braxton Griffith, Zayden Howard, Zylee Howard, Shaeleigh Howard and Raelynn Howard; four sisters, Ruth (Larry) Flannery of Grayson, Wanda (Ronald) Bauer and Callie Jarvis both of Mansfield, Ohio, and Alice Burton of Grayson; and several nieces and nephews who all mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 2, 2017, at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Tim Porter officiating. Burial will be in East Carter County Memory Gardens.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday and after noon Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Howard, D.J. Howard, Kevin Griffith, Michael Flannery, Derek Flannery and J.T. Burton.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Stidham Jr., Danny Endicott, Braxton Griffith, L.D. Griffith and Donnie Stidham.
