Teresa Mae Burgess, 52, of Rush, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017, at her residence.
Teresa was born Oc. 14, 1964, in Ashland, a daughter of the late James Peter and Ella Clotine Edwards Tomlin.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Connie Sue Tomlin; a stepdaughter, Kayla Weaver; and a grandson, Dennis Lee Chapman.
Teresa was a lifelong resident of Boyd County. She was a 1983 graduated of Boyd County High School and worked for several business in the area. She was a manager with Dollar General Stores, worked at Boyd Nursing and Rehab, Billy Bob's Play land, Community Hospice, Home Health/ Tech Medical of Greenup County, security at VA Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va. and Ashland Town Centre Mall. She was currently employed with Environmental Services at Kingsbrook Lifecare Center in Ashland.
Teresa is survived by her loving husband, Jesse Burgess of Rush; a son, Charlie Picklesimer of Huntington, W.Va.; a daughter, Kristy (Sarah Ross) of Huntington; two stepson, Dennis Chapman of Boyd County and Matthew of Greenup County; two stepdaughters, Kelsey Lemaster of Ironton, Ohio and Amy Burgess of Boyd County; three brothers, John (Donna) Tomlin of Boyd County, Donald (Jennifer) Tomlin of Boyd County and James (Catherine) Tomlin of Boyd County; a sister Lisa (Jerry) Groves of Boyd County; and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017, at Steen Funeral Home - 13th Street Chapel in Ashland with Pastor Mike Moore officiating. Burial will be in Kirby Flats Cemetery in Boyd County.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, 2007, at the funeral Home.
