Thelma D. Jarvis Coburn, 96, of Westwood, widow of Lovall Russell Coburn, went home to be with her Heavenly Father Monday, March 27, 2017, at her home with her family by her side.
Thelma was born June 2, 1920, in Willard, to the late Jace and Sadie Hall Jarvis.
In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Lovall Russell Coburn; one brother, Kenneth Jarvis; one sister, Rachel Salyers; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was a faithful member of Westwood Enterprise Baptist Church for many years. The last several years, she attended church with each of her children.
Thelma was a loving and caring mother to all her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchild and a dear friend to so many.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to Thelma's caregivers, Terri, Becky, Linda and Angie.
She is survived by three sons, Kenneth L. Coburn and wife Geraldine of Ashland, Bill Coburn and wife Judy of Westwood and James R. Coburn and wife Jeri of Ashland; one daughter, Joy Newman and husband Bob; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Caniff Funeral Home with Pastor Rob Jordan officiating. A private burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
