Thomas E. Leake, 91, of Ashland, died Monday, Jan. 2, 2017, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
He was born March 13, 1925, in Ironton, Ohio, the son of the late Ira Luther and Jessie Lee Jeffers Leake. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two wives, Marie Cantrell Leake and Madeline Nelms Leake; the mother of his children, Florine Sprouse Leake; a son, Arlie "Tom" Evans; three sisters, Loretta Hart, Irma Clark and Elizabeth "Penny" Kelly; two brothers, William Luther Leake and Stanley Lee "Bo" Leake; a stepson, Ron Nelms; a stepdaughter, Linda Vance; and a grandson, Adam Leake.
He was a retired pipefitter, member of the El Hasa Shrine Temple, Smith Masonic Lodge 775 F&AM, Royal Order of Jesters, Scottish Rite of Free Masonary 32 Degree, Kenova American Legion Post 93, El Hasa Temple directors staff, Ashland Elks Lodge 350, Hillbilly Clan No. 1 and Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union 248.
He is survived by two sons, Frank Ira "Butch" and Roberta "Bobbie" Leake of Quitman, Ga., and Guy Edward and Theresa Leake of Fayetteville, N.C.; stepson Rodney "Buddy" and Wanda Vance of Ashland; two sisters, Freda Sturgill and Mary Margaret "Poodie" Slone both of Ashland; a brother, James "Dick" and Deloris Leake of Ashland; a daughter-in-law, Mary Evans of Wheelersburg, Ohio; six grandchildren, Tom Evans, Jennifer Moorhead, Ashley Leake (Emily), Sean Leake, Jayson Leake and Tommi (Nick) Eldridge; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at noon Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017, at Miller Funeral Home in Ashland with Pastor Johnny Riley officiating. Masonic Rites will be at 11:45 a.m. by Smith Masonic Lodge 775 F&AM. Burial will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.
Friends may all after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
