Verna C. Evans, 74, of Ashland, peacefully passed away Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2017, in Crystal Care in Coal Grove, Ohio.
Verna was born July 11, 1943, in Ashland, a daughter of the late Charles William and Verna Evelyn Elkins Queen.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Verna Bowen.
Verna was a lifelong resident of Ashland and a graduate of Ashland High School. She retired from King's Daughters Medical Center as a courier in the lab department. Most importantly to her was her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was faithful to her Lord and Savior and will be missed by all who knew her.
Verna is survived by her children, Bruce Evans and wife Mary of Ashland and David Evans of Ashland; grandchildren, Kimberly Bowen, Megan Evans and Emily Evans; and a host of extended family and friends.
A celebration of Verna's life will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22, 2017, at Steen Funeral Home 13th Street Chapel by Timothy Arthur. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
