Virginia Edna Porter Faulkner, 87, of Union, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2017, in St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood.
Virginia was born March 29, 1930, in Westwood, to the late Oscar Morton and Laura Ethel Robinson Porter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jesse Warren Porter and Joseph Morris Porter; and one sister, Amanda Pauline Little.
Virginia retired as a teacher with the Russell Independent School System and taught at McDowell Elementary School. She was a member of Advance Memorial United Methodist Church, where she was the founder and long-standing librarian of the church's library. She was a member of Retired Teachers Association and former member of Order of the Eastern Star.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 66 years, Karl Prichard Faulkner Sr.; two sons, William Ballard Faulkner III (Jackie Beck Faulkner) of Cynthiana and Karl Prichard Faulkner II of Columbus, Ohio; one daughter, Karla Lu Faulkner Pugh (Ronald Maurice) of Hebron; one sister, Lillian Evelyn Webb of Columbus, Ohio; 10 grandchildren, William (Amanda), Olivia (Ryan) Brooke, Mark, Phillip (Kristina), Robert (Shannon), Micah, Karl, Jesse and Kristin; eight great-grandchildren, Veronica, Anthony, Andrew, Victoria, Jonathan, Lucy, Allison and Gabriel; one great-great-grandchild, Braylee; one great-great-grandchild on the way; and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be at noon Saturday, June 17, 2017, at Caniff Funeral Home in Westwood. Burial will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the funeral home.
