Warren Lester Jarrell, 84, went home to be with Jesus Thursday, June 15, 2017.
He was born Nov. 24, 1932, in Martin County, to the late Tivis and Nevada Simpkins Jarrell.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Forest, Glenn and Robert; five sisters, Lucille, Romayne, Carmen, Anna Marie and Carol; one daughter, Julie Lewis; and one granddaughter, Jessica Broughton.
He retired after 38 years from Armco Steel and enjoyed spending his days in the garden, fixing lawnmowers or whatever else he could get his hands on. Warren was a board member, treasurer and soundman at Ashland Assembly of God. He was a devoted husband, brother, father and grandfather. Everyone who was blessed to know him will miss him and never forget the amazing man he was.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Geraldine Robinson Jarrell; two brothers, Al (Jan) Jarrell and Dan (Mert) Jarrell of Florida; one sister, Barbara (Bill) Henderson of Virginia; seven children, Joseph Jarrell Sr., Warren Daniel Jarrell, Pamela (Mike) Broughton, Denise (Stephen) Jarrell, Kevin Radar (Denise) Jarrell, Kathi Jarrell and Tim (Tammy) Jarrell; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at Ashland Assembly of God, 525 Blackburn Avenue, with Pastor Charles Shields officiating. Burial will be in Community Missionary Cemetery in Deering, Ohio.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 19, 2017, at Preston Family Funeral Home in Ashland and from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
