Wayne W. England, 91, of Flatwoods, passed away peacefully Monday, July 3, 2017, at his residence.
Mr. England was born Nov. 15, 1925, to the late Chris and Gussie England in Cheap (Flatwoods).
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Bill England; and a sister, Rhoda Shope.
Wayne was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Navy and Army. He was the former manager of Rail City Hardware, where he retired after 52 years. Wayne loved to serve his Lord and was director of children's Sunday School department, a Deacon, an usher and a driver for the children's bus ministy at his church, Unity Baptist. Wayne was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 60 years, Alfreda "Petie" England; one son, Tim (Tina) England; one daughter, Cathy (Dwight) Sizemore; five grandchildren, Sonny (Shannon) Sizemore, Jacob (Emily) Sizemore, Ryan England, Rachel England and Rebekah England; two great-grandchildren, Elijah Sizemore and Isaac Sizemore; a brother-in-law, Bob Elswick; and his nieces that he loved dearly.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 6, 2017, at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods with Pastor Michael Rice officiating. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
