William Arthur Stevens, 66, of Summitt, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, June 8, 2017, following an extended illness.
Bill was born June 6, 1951, in Ashland, a son of Douglas B. Stevens and the late Rosemary Runyon Stevens. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rhonda Gilbert Stevens; and his younger brother, Douglas Kevin Stevens.
He was a graduate of Fairview High School and the Ashland area vocational school.
Bill was an Armco Steel retiree. He was a loving son, husband, father, brother, companion and friend.
He loved to hunt, fish and spend time in the country. Bill loved the Lord which gave him peace during his illness. He truly believed a better life was waiting to ease his suffering.
Left to cherish his memory is his father, Douglas Stevens of Westwood; his son, William Douglas Stevens (Sabrina) of Ashland; a stepson, Joshua Gilbert (Aerielle) of Greenup; two sisters, Paula Sergent (James) of Bellefonte, Debbie Stewart (Charles) of Summit; and four grandchildren, Logan and Caelyn Stevens and Phoenix and Trista Gilbert; a very special companion, Donna Brown; and best friend, Tex Ritter. Their love and kindness will never be forgotten.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 14 2017, at Preston Family Funeral Home in Ashland with Pastor Jim Webster officiating. Burial will be in the Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.
