Ashland, Kentucky - Bert Donald Frasure, 73, of Ashland, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 1, 2025.

Born on June 18, 1952, in Ashland, he was the son of the late Cecil "Bert" and Georgianna Frasure.

A proud 1970 graduate of Boyd County High School, Bert earned a scholarship to play basketball at East Tennessee State University. He later built a long and respected career with Allied Chemical-AK Steel before retiring.

Bert was truly a gentle giant—steadfast, kind, and full of life. He loved his family and friends deeply, and his days were often filled with the early mornings at the YMCA, running, sharing unforgettable stories, and filling every room he entered with laughter. To know Bert was to love him, and to be loved by him was a gift.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 35 years, Montine Black Frasure; and his children: Sara (Matt) Allen of Lexington, KY; Jesse (Carrie) Frasure of Finksburg, MD; Ray (Karen Lo) Kleykamp of New Orleans, LA; Dr. Beth (Drew) Waitkus of Fairmont, WV; Dr. Annie (Chad Mitchell) Kleykamp of Baltimore, MD; and Julie Kleykamp of Ashland, KY.

He was Granddaddy to Halley Charles, Noah Charles, Susan Allen, Elijah Allen, Corlese Allen, Gretchen Frasure, Claire Frasure, Andrew Mutch, Ada Mutch, Weldon Frazier,

Newo Vaughn, Astrid Vaughn, and Sophie Lo.

Bert is also survived by his brother, Andy (Cathi) Frasure of South Point, OH; his sister, Kathryn "Kathy" Boyd of Ashland, KY; and by lifelong friends Tony Hogsten, Steve Myers, Bennie Millard and many work buddies from over the years.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 6th, from 11:00 AM-2:00 PM at the Ashland Elks, 900 Carter Avenue, Ashland, KY.
