Catlettsburg, KY - A Celebration of Life to honor Betty Sue "Betsy" Arnett will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 2:00pm at the Catlettsburg Youth Center. Betsy, 89, was born on July 25, 1936, and entered her Heavenly home on December 31, 2025. She was a lifelong resident of Catlettsburg.
She was a devoted Christian, passionate about Jesus, her family, her friends and the city she called home. She attended Catlettsburg Freewill Baptist Church and retired from the Treasury Department of Ashland Oil, Inc.
Betsy graduated from Thomas R. Brown High School in 1954, where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Jack Arnett. For 15 years, she organized and hosted the Thomas R. Brown/Catlettsburg High School reunions.
Her service did not go unnoticed; in 2019, she was honored with an official Citation from the City of Catlettsburg for her tireless dedication, as well as a Proclamation naming her Catlettsburg Citizen of the Year from the Kentucky House of Representatives.
Betsy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack Arnett; her sons, Tad and Jon Arnett; her granddaughters Jacci Kiser and Michelle Workman; her parents, Clifford and Mabel Robinson; and her siblings, Bob, Billie, Joyce, Donald Clifford, Mona Gay, and Tommy.
Surviving children: daughters, Lynne Arnett of Catlettsburg and Yvette (Russ) Blevins of Ashland, and son Jay (Susan) Arnett of Ashland.
She is also survived by a large and loving family of grandchildren: Chan (Lynn) Arnett, Jon Michael Arnett, Abby Arnett, Sami Arnett, Nicci (Brandon) Gibbs, Josh (Alli) Hatfield, Dani Parent, Adam Abrams, Megan and Tanner Conley; as well as her great-grandchildren: Hannah, Molly, and Ben Robbins; Blaine, Jackson, Madison and Cash Hatfield; Natalie Ruggles, Jett Travis and Griff Bumgardner.
Betty is also survived by Carol Walters, her oldest friend since grade school. She will be deeply missed by her many friends, several of whom she faithfully visited with each week.
