Carol (Stevenson) Holcomb, 88, of South Portsmouth, Ky., died Sunday Sept. 16, 2018 at her home.

She was born Aug. 12, 1930 in South Portsmouth, Ky. to the late Homer Edward and Minnie Dovie (Webb) Stevenson.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by brothers; Clyde Stevenson, Homer Stevenson Jr, Harry Stevenson, Wilford Neil Stevenson; and sisters Rachel Stevenson, Pauline Childers, Ina Stevenson, and infant sisters Margarite and Myrtle.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 68 years, Earl Holcomb; six children, Deborah Wright, Cathy (Don) Gullett, Valerie (Danny) Meenach, Cristi (Randy) Berry, David (Donna) Holcomb and Danny (Yvonne) Holcomb; 15 grandchildren, Heather Morrison and Bradley (Danica) Wright, Donald Gullett Jr. (Missy), Tracey (Drew) Rapp, Angela (Mark) Defoe, Brooke (Ryan) Wells, Carrie (Andrew)Gullett, Casey Meenach (Will McCall), Hannah and Jackson Berry, Cassandra (Cory) Hicks, Alex (Kristen) Holcomb, Rachel (Sean) Affareaux, Sarah Holcomb (Patrick Sandefer), Daniel Holcomb(Stephanie Long); 13 great- grandchildren; brother Robert (Elma) Stevenson, Anna Louise Evans, and Chlotine Roderick.

She was of the Baptist faith and loved her Lord; she dedicated her life to her husband and family. She was a wonderful homemaker and made her home the hub of our lives. She was the true matriarch of the family.

Memorial services will be held Tues., Sept. 18, 2018 at MORTON FUNERAL HOME in South Shore, Ky., with Darrell Stephenson officiating.
