Charles Elwood Hennecke


Charles (Elwood) Hennecke, age 85, of Brush Creek, passed away Wednesday evening, February 6, 2019 in Community Hospice Care Center.
Elwood was born in Greenup County, June 11, 1933 to the late Willard and Alene Rice Hennecke.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Charlene Hennecke.
Elwood was a member, deacon, and Sunday School teacher at Brush Creek Freewill Baptist Church and retired with 29 years of service with Contech as a pipe maker. He also owned and worked a dairy farm for many years. Farming was a big part of his life; he also enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time with his family, and many hours of Bible study.
Surviving are his wife, Janice Broughton Hennecke of Brush Creek; three daughters, Sheila (Ron) Riffe of Brush Creek, Cindy (Paul) Sandhop of Trenton, Ohio, and Nita (Jim) Coffee of Naples; and two sons; Terry (Patty) Hennecke of Brunswick, Ga., and Randy (Dana) Hennecke of Naples; grandchildren, Chris Riffe, Kevin Riffe, Shawna Shannon, Brandon Sandhop, April Ramsey, Jeremy Hennecke, Jessica Hennecke, Natalie Fultz, Matthew Fultz, Teria Hennecke, Phillip Coffee, Bridget Prichard; and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Elwood will be held 2 p.m. Monday, February, 11, 2019 by Pastor Frank Hackworth at Preston Family Funeral Home in Ashland. Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, February 10, 2019 and from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow funeral services in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Preston Family Funeral Home in Ashland.
