Curtis  Stratton
Curtis Stratton, 88, of Ashland, Ky., passed away at the Hospice Care Center on February 19, 2020.
He was born on June 9, 1931, in Pikeville, Ky., to the late Hansel and Lucy Charles Stratton.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Billy Joe Stratton of Pa. and sisters Lorraine Green of Ariz. and Patricia Crance of Ashland, Ky.
He graduated from Boyd County High School class of 1951 and served in the U.S. Army for three years in Germany which he very much enjoyed. Curtis retired from Armco Steel Corporation in the west processing department and was a member of Summit Nazarene Church. When he was younger he took many fishing trips that he loved doing.
He is survived by the love of his life and wife for 66 years, Dorothy Williams Stratton of Ashland, KY; three sons Randy (Cindy) Stratton of Grayson, David (Martha) Stratton of Ashland, Ky. and Doyle (Deb, who is like a daughter) Stratton of Catlettsburg, Ky.; grandchildren Adam (Jennifer) Stratton, Corey (Kayla) Stratton, Kelly Stratton, Morgan (Jeremy) Opell and Amber Stratton; great-grandchildren Parker, Peyton, Allen, Barrett, Jackson, Brinley, Blaine, Bryden & Kennedi; a sister, Sheila (Gerald) Peace of Summit, Ky.; and two former daughters-in-law Peggy Stratton and Ladonna Hall. He will also be greatly missed by his church family at Summit Nazarene and all who loved him. He loved to laugh, talk and never met a stranger.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 24, 2020, at Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel at 1 p.m. and will be officiated by Dr. Desmond Barrett. Entombment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m.
