With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Dawn Michelle Johnson, who was called home on April,1 2025 after a long illness. Dawn had a contagious laugh, big smile, and most importantly, a generous heart. She was a devoted daughter, a cherished friend, and a guiding light to many. Though we grieve her loss, we take comfort in knowing she has found peace in the loving embrace of the Lord.
Dawn's memory will live on in the stories we share, the lessons she taught us, and the love she spread throughout her time here on Earth. May we honor her by living with the same grace and kindness she effortlessly embodied.
She is survived by her mother, Carol Childress of Russell, Kentucky, and her father, William Johnson of Meriden, Connecticut. She also leaves behind three brothers: Erik Johnson of Russell, Kentucky; Alex Johnson of Russell, Kentucky; and Zachary (Brittany) Childress, of Flatwoods, Kentucky. Additionally, she is survived by her sister, Kaelyn (Kyle) Levesque, of Killingworth Connecticut; her niece, Siera Johnson of Ironton, Ohio; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A celebration of Dawn's life will be held at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 11:00 to 1:00., Saturday, April 5th 2025 with a funeral service to follow. We will gather to honor and remember the beautiful soul she was.
